Breastfeeding is a challenge like no other. It’s seems so natural but yet it doesn’t come that way.

Whether you choose to nurse or pump, you’re doing the damn thing Mama and congratulations, look how far you’ve come!

Even if you’ve chosen to feed with formula you’re doing what’s most important. FEEDING YOUR BABY!!

Below I’m sharing some lactation smoothie recipes that will aid in boosting your milk supply.

So let’s break this down. Please don’t get in your head that your cup must runneth over of breast milk. Milk goddesses are real but very rare in the nursing world.

Nursing is the only true way to keep your supply heavy and steady for your baby. Any pumping will cause your body to have an increase in your milk supply. We recommend pumping for back up feedings if you’re tired or have to be away for baby for an extended period of time such as work or date night, lol. Otherwise nurse whenever and as often as you can to make more milk.

Ok now for the recipes!!

STRAWBERRY

  • 1/4 cup oats old fashioned
  • 1 banana
  • 8 strawberries frozen
  • 1/2 cup almond/coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp brewer’s yeast
  • 1 tsp flax seed ground

Instructions

  1. Put oats into blender and process until the oats are well ground.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.

OATMEAL BANANA

  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • 3 tbsp natural or Greek yoghurt
  • ¼ cup whole rolled oats
  • ½ frozen banana
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed ground
  • 1 tbsp brewers yeast
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and mix on high speed for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
And lastly MY favorite..
CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BANANA

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp flax seed up to 2 tbsp if you are really looking to boost milk production
  • 2 tablespoon 100% cacao powder
  • 3/4 cup almond milk
  • 2 cups ice
  • Toppings optional: Whipped Cream, powdered chocolate, sliced bananas
Instructions
  1. In a blender, add the oats and give it a quick pulse or two. Add remaining ingredients, except ice, and blend until well combined. Add 2 cups of ice until well blended. Enjoy with a thick straw or a spoon!
