kids eat free for summer

No kid should ever go hungry!

About 16 million children struggle with hunger every year in America. 1 out of 5 kids will go hungry at some point during the year. And a lot of these kids depend on school meals to provide meals for their entire day.

I understand how hungry my kids get especially active kids. They not only want but need to eat, so I can not imagine how hungry these kids are. I have a pet peeve of wasting food for somewhat of this reasoning.

“For many families, schools are the one place their children can receive a nutritious meal. Our summer feeding program allows communities to continue feeding children when school is not in session,” said Alyssia Wright, executive director of the district’s School Nutrition Program, in a written statement.

For the summer dozens of Fulton County school system are providing free breakfast and lunches to ALL KIDS ages 1-18. You do not have to be enrolled to participate. The “Seamless Summer Meals” program begins June 5 at schools throughout the district.
